    @josephcox I am always frustrated that they are unwilling to use the obvious (and existing) solution - updating caller ID to remove spoofing.

    It's because 90% of phone calls are spam, and the telecoms would lose too much money if they actually worked at removing the ability to spam people.

    @nosrednayduj @josephcox Not wrong, but I was banging that drum over a decade ago when I still cared about my landline. And we're already starting to see the equivalent in text chats.

    @josephcox I'm surprised it has taken this long. Every crime show has some form of "they are using a burner phone we can't know who they are!"

    @josephcox This is not news folks. Many jurisdictions already do this. I can't even go buy a sim card for cash for an appliance I want to install out in the south forty where I live without ID.
