@hildabast @PLOS there's so many vaccines in development now its hard to mentally track the most promising ones month to month, at least for me, even with these excellent monthly summaries. might it be an idea to do a sort of recap post of the most promising vaccines/developments over the last couple of years?

@eniko @PLOS That's what I'm doing with the watchlist. Though it's 9 vaccines, the first 5 are the main ones to watch.

I looked into the Sydney trial, and apart from being surprised that they're using BMI (isn't BMI flawed and discredited and racist and old-fashioned and inaccurate and all the bad things?), I thought the "refrain from heterosexual intercourse" requirement might have a glaring loophole.
No heterosexual sex, or always use contraception seems to suggest avoiding pregnancies where at least one parent is part of the study.
If this is the aim, shouldn't they also clearly require no sperm donations, or egg harvesting, during the study as well?
