    @Daojoan Conservatives want their cake and eat it too. They want the 1950s back when there was post-war wealth, and the whole "traditional" values bullshit. I think that's part of the reason why Trump keeps trying to pick fights and start a world war, because they do tend to generate a lot of wealth....if trickle down economics actually worked.

    @Daojoan Blaming women for working, sure. Social conservatives definitely have a false nostalgia for a perfect 1950's that never existed. Working class women in particular have always kept working. My grandma did and that was decades before Leave It to Beaver.

    But you seem to be suggesting that conservatives are the ones responsible for normalizing middle class women staying in the workplace after marriage, and unilaterally so. That doesn't ring true for me at all.

    Cultural right: cut welfare, crack down on homelessness

    Economic right: brings in cheap workers on various visas
    Cultural right: stirs anti immigrant sentiment

    Economic right: all in on AI
    Cultural right: deus vult, save our beloved culture from all this woke (also trans).

    One vote, two boots, all over the world. They're that predictable, what's disappointing is how often we fall for it.

    @Daojoan - Basically it ends up with the Conservatives being the Profiteers. Their idea is women can work but get less pay for the same job as a man. No insurance. Destroy the Unions protecting their workers.
