Now QBZ plays DSD. I guess that basically makes it my go-to player now. I still don't think you can select tracks outside of your pre-selected library, so I'll still need something for that unsusual use case...

I like that the JellyTV has a category for 4K, because I forget what I do and don't have on some of them...

Granted, I do automatically obtain the stuff @jake4480 loves, but that's still a miniscule percentage of the overall...

Well, just to show you how nuts I am, I have 790 films on Jellyfin, and I still haven't ripped them all... ;>)

Strike that, there are Collections. Just looking in the wrong place. Looks like I'll have to reidentify a few titles, but not many. Thank you, Lord! ;>)

Unfortunately, they don't have Collections, which is very, very useful for grouping directors or film series together by year...

It actually does a pretty good job of identifying titles unlike Emby now, and I don't have to pay for backups...

Scrapped the Emby server and went with Jellyfin. Installed the excellent JellyTV app for Apple TV and payed for a year of that...

Well, as a backup, I went with the DLNA server, Universal Music Server. I know it is solid from back in the day with my PS3. It recognized my Blu-ray player right away, so we're in business. I can stream music as well, so that's a plus. Nothing fancy. I don't do any transcoding or anything like that: SOURCE --> LOCAL NETWORK --> PLAYER...

There was a hitch in my 'Scream' marathon. I accidentally copied over 2022 twice and didn't have the time to correct it. I'm literaly OCD and won't watch things out of order. Corrected now. The Emby app for Apple TV was also acting up on 4K sources, so I may have to stream through my Blu-ray player, which isn't quite as user-friendly...

In honor of my buddy Jake and his lovely wife, I'm going to start the Scream series tomorrow. I likely will not end in a puddle of fear, but I do have a thing for Neve Campbell... ;>)

On most systems, gnome-keyring would be handling the keys for your browser and other applications, but they have this set up with GNU. I'm not sure where that is happening, but it is. Most users never know that this is going on in the background because your keyring password is being passed to the daemon silently. No intervention needed. Nevertheless, some users like to roll their own and opt for ssh-agent or gpg-agent instead of gnome-keyring. After trying to fix the code for start-cosmic, I realized the gnome-keyring wasn't involved at all and that it must be GNU. What a strange and esoteric find...Spent all morning on it.

Once again I have proved that no problem stands in my way. There's an annoying bug on CatchyOS regarding COSMIC the prevents the SSH_AUTH_SOCK from being set and exported. Mainly because the code for gnome-keyring-daemon is fucked up. However, you don't even need gnome-keyring-daemon. GnuPG is storing the SSH keys, dummy! Export the correct path in my local environment file and no more annoying password prompt... ;>)

Found a hack to force Wine to use Wayland instead of XWayland. Nice! Much better now. I compiled Wine from source early this morning in order to gain the latest version in the hopes of better Wayland support...
