According to NY Times article young athletes are tearing ACLs a lot. The useful information was buried several layers and PDFs later:

Okay, now the rant:
I saw this article was trending on mastodon and I have niblings in sports so I was glad to see it was not paywalled. The article's blurb says "even though a few simple exercises can prevent them" and then my blood pressure kept rising since no resources linked for another 4575 words. Words that lament how it doesn't have to be this way and the exercises drop the are of injury by two-thirds and it's because there is an acute lack of awareness. And even then it required parsing through PDFs and studies to actually get to actionable information. 4575 words!! To quote the author:

It  didn’t have to be this way.

Maybe next time try to actually think about helping busy parents and coaches by loudly and clearly shouting the solution that can keep kids safer sooner than 4575 words that link to a site which links to a PDF, which links to another PDF.

1. Your voice doesn't NEED to be heard. In fact, realizing that you don’t HAVE to have an opinion on everything and voice opinions or ideas in meetings or social gatherings, is amazingly liberating. You can actually just shut up, and relieve yourself of all that effort and stress. Let Bob utter his embarrassingly dumb idea, let Shirley have a say. You can just let it be for the most part

Every few months, while I cycle to work, I notice I am putting more effort, getting a little bit more breathless, and tell myself I need to do more exercise to get in better shape.
And then @Pepijn glances at my bike, picks up the pump and inflates my tires. Inevitably, the next time I ride, I feel like I’m flying.

I wish you all to have someone in your life who inflates your tires, literally or figuratively.
