So still not well, still no diagnosis, nurse when taking bloods said (on Tuesday) doctor needs to take photographs with surgery camera for my referral, dr has booked me a telephone appointment. 🙄 off to work definitely feeling a bit crap. And on queue OH has pranged his back when sweeping the floor.

We were discussing non-native invasive plants the other day. Here’s some examples of rhododendron ponticum on the Fife coastal path. They are taking over the understory of a native wood. While the flowers are a good nectar source, the plants suffocate native species that would otherwise grow in the spaces between the trees. They also stifle germination of native tree seed.

French Polish … it’s always tricky. The key is to be brave, apply in single strokes and let to dry. Then on to the next coat. Once you have two or three coats on, no more sandpaper - just the courage of one’s convictions. This has had seven coats now and I am thinning the polish with methylated spirits for a smooth finish. #WoodWorking #Modelling #Miniatures #No52.

Entering the most dangerous phase of the day: fixing to go. Today I am fixing to go to work. So snails pace is to be praised. I have to manage the following tasks:
Make my lunch.
Get and pack the right notes. Shower and dress.
Find car keys and purse.
Put in hearing aids.
Get in car.
Go back in house to collect forgotten item (choose from list above or any other random thing).
Get back in car.
Leave.

Today’s news: after work in the morning I decided to get along with cleaning the telescope for OH and swung it around to check the connections - in so doing I managed to knock an entire mug of fresh coffee over the desk and floor in my *tiny* craft room. Now my jeans and socks are in the washing machine, I have done my best to clean the craft room desk, chair, and carpet, and made myself a fresh coffee which I am drinking in the kitchen before anything else goes wrong! 😑 #OneOfThoseDays

Also had a go at a peony. It looks good from the top down but it isn’t enough of a goblet shape from the side. The 1 cent coin is for scale. #miniatures #DollsHouse

The orchid is coming along. It needs soil and leaves but the idea is there. I had a go at some yellow ones, but the pink seems quite effective. #DollsHouse #No52 #FimoClay #miniatures

Decided to take a break and try out my new florist’s wire. Making petals is very slow. Can you guess what plant this will be? Not going to say how long it took to get to here!

Work lunch break - decided to stop in the park. It’s lovely - not too warm (there’s a light breeze) and the babble of happy playing children gently pervades the birdsong and occasional yelp from a dog. #WeePlusses

I’m getting slowly along with my mantelpiece. The tiles are not yet glued in place but the wooden surround is definitely coming together. I know it looks ‘finished’ but the *finishing* is yet to be started. There’s to be a flat top but I am thinking it might be better added after installation.
