@pho4cexa @kboyd oooh nice! Thank you. Really nice write up. Shall play and see how much difference some of your tricks make to my attempt.

(If I get a seat on the train to work this morning)

@emily_s @kboyd ohhh wow instead of polygons you just used thick lines, that's brilliant!! now i understand why you were asking about the yellow background

i have a hypothesis that i have yet to explore: i know run-length encoding is part of most compression software like gzip, so i wonder if we can get away with generous amounts of whitespace for indenting without increasing the gzip-compressed file size (much? at all?)

@pho4cexa @kboyd ooh good point. I remember xml compressing well because of the number of repeating keys, spaces should be similar. I haven't tried compressing mine yet. One for this evening as Im nearly at my stop

BTW thank you for this it is a fun little challenge.

@pho4cexa @kboyd ooh that would make a difference to the best way to encoded paths too. The repeating relative line suffix on the chevron paths in mine should compress better than if I'd used global coordinates.

@emily_s It would be less readable and it'll alter the colours a little but you could change all colours with more than 4 characters to three character hex codes? e.g. #90d for darkviolet
