@thatnateguy @briankrebs been hearing a lot about Keepass, but what's stopping me is that I have to self host it. How are you handling it? On your server?
Also I agree with @Drarok, BitWarden hasn't been that convenient to use for me.

@ebourgess @briankrebs @Drarok
Okay, so no BitWarden. As for KeePassXC, my main password database is in #Keybase and I keep multiple backups.
@thatnateguy @briankrebs @Drarok hey, thanks!
@ebourgess @thatnateguy @briankrebs @Drarok why would you need to self host? for cross device syncing? There are apps based on Keepass, idk about Android ones but Strongbox has been fine on iOS and Apple Silicon. With Strongbox it will sync w icloud if you enable, my partner does that, while I just manually transfer blobs periodically, can use the blob from Strongbox or similar w Keepass on Linux or Windows. I used mSecure in the past but switched when they were bought out.
@CliffsEsport @thatnateguy @briankrebs @Drarok I did give Strongbox a try once, I am on both mac and iphone also so that helps. I will need to take a better look at it though before I pass any judgement on this.
@ebourgess @thatnateguy @briankrebs @Drarok Not saying it will fit your use case but we have been using it for years, they have free version. But for iOS I liked it enough I bought 3 forever copies more as way to support the dev. If you or others on this thread unaware Keepass download lists Contributed/Unofficial apps on download page in addition to official ones https://keepass.info/download.html
@CliffsEsport @ebourgess @briankrebs @Drarok I keep my password manager synced with Keybase but have multiple backups.
And I prefer https://keepassxc.org/. It uses the same database format as the OG.
@thatnateguy @ebourgess @briankrebs @Drarok AFAIK KeepassXC is good to go, went Keepass primarily because two nerd friends had years of experience w it. Including one sys admin were they use it at his employer's on mixed Windows and Linux shop. And because Strongbox passed my research phase for iOS as good choice for my partner, who though tech savvy is not an enthusiast, that I'd be fine w using. We backup each other's blobs in addition to private backups.
