AI ads are everywhere now, but i've noticed an especially high uptick in AI art usage in the local Chinese business community which makes some sense given that a lot of the businesses are indie and also there's been a lot more of an embrace of AI in the Chinese immigrant community I've noticed and less pushback

@ami_angelwings I feel like everything in the Chinese community just moved at a different pace. When English language areas were hearing about LLM the Chinese hard adopted, and now that there are LLM/genAI trash menus turning up around my area, the Chinese is already backlashing with the intensity only really seen in English tech space.

Too late, we already poisoned our wells

@BigShellEvent Chinese communities imo tend to be pretty hard adopters of new tech for various reasons, a lot of higher earning immigrants are in the tech sector, the idea of "getting ahead" of the curve, wanting their kids to be at the forefront, tech being seen as important to get ahead of, etc

@ami_angelwings the more i look at how they use it, the more i feel so concerned, they just slap AI for "remixing" because the artist doesn't do the way they want and then applause that. seriously i don't get that, if they don't like it, i just want to tell them "hey you don't need to do that to teach them how to do things, you can just skip it to not waste our time"
