South #Yorkshire plans to submit a £1.45bn #transport investment programme to the Government, covering Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

The proposals include bus franchising, Supertram renewal, more than £125m for rail projects, improved links to Doncaster Sheffield Airport and £141.1m for neighbourhood upgrades.

Plans include station improvements, bus priority measures, better shelters, road maintenance and safer streets, crossings and walking, wheeling and cycling routes.

The investment aims to improve connections to jobs and services and support housing and economic growth. Approved by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority Board, the programme is due to be submitted to the Government. Subject to approval, work would begin in April 2027 and continue until 2032.
