Imagine with all the young people social media bans, there was a limit on 3rd party advertising these traditional/non open social networks?

For example public & governments organisations can't point people to their tiktok, insta, etc between certain hours? Or they could only do so 3 hours a day?

@cubicgarden Public and government organisations should be required to have open communication platforms accessible to all that are owned and operated by the public (civil service will do), publishing at least the same content posted to walled garden commercial platforms.

Even the most trivial Tik-Tok dance from No 11 should not be behind a login-wall.

@cubicgarden As long as I can access all information, I don't care at all tbh. Information locked behind company doors is the larger problem. While that is a massive problem for basically everything, publicly owned / government stuff still posts everything on their normal websites here, so that's okay. The whole idea is to go where most people are (not websites) *in addition* to websites, e-mail etc and I don't dislike that.
