Oct 24, 2026, 10:52 PM@Beachbum @fsfe you’re welcome.
Looking at it a bit closer…
- Needy has no obvious signs of being slop, and it was first written in Italian and then changed to English, including the comments, which were not 1:1 translated…
- … but the image in Resources/ is slop…
- … and the translation of
Nascondiamo vecchi errori e blocchiamo il bottonetoWe hide old mistakes and block the buttonis what Google Translate spits out and is odd, as the context is hiding old error messages, not mistakes… - … so the jury is still out on this one.
- RastiSearch is on Codeberg so it cannot really be slop ;) it’s also by people from @Teckids who naturally don’t use slop
- Pianove… does not trigger slopscan, but it does trigger the “Claude has committed to this repo” warning from Microslop Github. Maybe in an earlier commit force-pushed away? Maybe in PR#1 (does CCR mean claude code router?)? I cannot quickly find anything obvious. If so, it would be too bad, it does look like fun.
- SmartFoodSave… using slop to save the world, yeah, no.
- FindMyWeb… also on Codeberg, and I cannot find any obvious slop, and the author is apparently on Fedi (@misom@social.techncs.de but the FSFE post failed to make that into an actual mention, maybe they pasted this to a nōn-federating network first?), so perhaps slopfree
- NumOs… 379/476 commits fully vibecoded, ’nuff said 🤮
Not sure whether the FSFE even has an “AI” policy. I tried finding anything other than blogposts, but even their ALL AWARENESS ACTIVITIES and ALL POLICY ACTIVITIES pages give 404… the ALL LEGAL ACTIVITIES list nothing related. I’ve no idea.
By the way, https://mastodon.social/@ryanprior/117496914743525428 from just today explains that LLM-containing software cannot be Free software from another angle.
