@toddtyrtle I check my time at the top of the "hill" (in RideWithGPS), just to keep an eye on my health, but I've never used Strava nor had the inclination to.

@keraba Joined back in 2014 but just because it was the thing to do more than anything. Data for me is a mixed bag. "Keeping an eye on my health" quickly turns to "wait, is that a concern?" (No it's not, you forgot you gave blood, ate poorly, hadn't biked in a few weeks, etc...)

I had a Garmin watch for a while and its fitness tracking was maddening. Its "Stress score" and "sleep score" were the bane of my existence. (Though it was interesting to watch that "stress score" go up to 100% as my first COVID infection hit).

Ya, I only use the time to ask, "I wonder if skipping riding this week will affect my time.", long-term trending and comparing bikes of course.

I have a Pixel Watch and I've become fairly convinced that the preponderance of heart "issues" today is because we now have monitoring #thanksapple, and not because they develop into real problems.

@keraba Yeah - for now I'm using the apple watch which seems to be much more supportive and doesn't think my eight hours of sleep were terrible because of "stress". So far it's been good but I'm intrigued about PineTime - fully self-hosted and privacy focused fitness tracker. A couple of years ago I bought an iPhone and my son gave me his Apple Watch (he switched to an old school Casio digital). As long as Apple isn't too egregious about what it does and the watch/phone work I will use it but when replacement time comes I'm likely to change the whole thing. pine64.org/devices/pinetime/
