Read so fast tonight in Braille practice that my index finger got abit numb, had to switch to my left hand to double check some characters. Ran into 'These' for the fist time tonight and words like 'their' and 'were' weren't giving me a momentary pause as I parced them. So... accomplishment! Practice makes perfect. Now if I can just do this in other areas like exercise and get back to doing that regularly.
Oh, and my favorite word I found tonight was 'besides'.
@blindbat84 Be glad it wasn't thermoform paper.
@DavidGoldfield The medium or the word?
@blindbat84 The medium.
@DavidGoldfield Ah, why's that? Ihave some of that paper somewhere... This was my Chameleon, and honestly, paper barille makes my fingers go funny faster, thermoform may not be that bad but... no idea, never put enough on one of those sheets to see.
@blindbat84 If your hands sweat, the thermoform material can really slow down your reading speed. As a kid, I used to love writing Braille on that paper because the dots are really sharper and seem to last longer.
@DavidGoldfield I have heard storiest hat it lasts along long time. Ihave some of that here and should write some of my favorite recipes on it honestly.
@DavidGoldfield @blindbat84 Yep, that stuff lasts a long time. You can buy it, but you can also buy something else from APH and I think they still sell it, it is called Braillon. It is smooth, and holds the dots as well, in my opinion. It is a tiny bit thinner. It's not cheap, but for things that you want to preserve, I think it's worth it. Especially recipes!
@blindbat84 You can do it!
@sapphireangel Heh, thanks. Some days are betterthan others to be sure,but there is always progress.
@blindbat84 You are doing it, and you can get back into exercise too if you want! :) exercise is so good for not just physical but mental health.
@sapphireangel Oh I'm doing that slowly but surely. Finding the time is the problem there as it takes longer than 15 minutes.
@blindbat84 It can be tough to find time to do everything for sure, but short workouts throughout the day is sometimes more beneficial.
