It thinks the train I’m on is doing c. 160km/h
My GPS (and my eyes!) think it’s more like 300km/h

Last year I was waiting for an Agilis train down in rural Bavaria with the DB app - otherwise quite trustworthy - showing it performing exactly to timetable. But the train was cancelled. Perhaps they extrapolate the data from the timetable if they don't receive real data. But that's a faulty behaviour. I'd rather have no information at all so I can go enquire what's happening.

@guenterhack Right. I agree. But this Lyria in my screenshot was running (I saw it later) but wasn’t where it was meant to be. Which is a strange one.

@jon Yeah, strange behaviour. I get that sometimes with geolocation on my mobile when the signal is weak.
Oct 22, 2026, 8:50 PM@jon @guenterhack My guess is interpolating with a constant speed between given stops with the timetable (accounting with extra delay if it has it in real time). I've seen ÖBB Scotty do it exactly like this
