@GetCarter interesting. Australian Indigenous people made lots of fish traps, some still there. British colonialists saw them as evidence of laziness. Later they were evidence that settlement based on the doctrine of terra nullius (empty land so it was fine to steal it) was obviously bullshit so efforts were made to destroy all evidence of Indigenous culture and prior occupation.
