Anyway, I wonder, I'm just a #bridgyfed guy (which I think is the best we could do, to constantly push good #fediverse narrative there), how's going eurosky in terms of user stats, new users, active users, migrated users.
It would be great if we can se them outperform that other thing
@luca Eurosky may be better in some regards but it is not really ideal either. As the most basic thing it still results in depending on Bluesky which really should not be an option if we are trying to do European digital sovereignty.
I doubt either will make much of a mark though. W because getting a few EU politicians will not make masses ID verify. Eurosky because masses do not care enough and will not figure out PDSes.
@ikuturso @luca @aral @_elena @eurosky.social To be fair, there's work towards having community infra on the Atmosphere side lately.
Although the part of "regular people will not figure out PDSs" is very Mastodon.social centralization risk for me.
@ajhalili2006 @luca @aral @_elena @eurosky.social I'd say it's a lot worse compared to mastodon.social because it is everything that confuses people about that plus having to also understand your account provider will interact with your client provider and you still have more hidden dependencies like the appview underneath those two choices.
@luca @aral @_elena @eurosky.social Currently I have migrated my Atmosphere account to Tangled's PDS somewhere in the EU but plans to actually self-host one at @hallo (pardon the mention) using Tranquil PDS soon once I sorted out the kinks with GitLab CI-based deployment minus Docker containers.
