    Day 27: Instead of a 5 minute drive to my parents I have just walked it: 35 minutes, 1.7 miles. Along streets lined with large mature trees, country roads with hedges and a footpath crossing a farmer's field. A chance to watch and listen to nature on my own doorstep.

    Day 28: the return walk back home but this time at night. I had hoped to see barn owl and bats, or maybe a tawny like last year. Sadly not this time, far too dark at the barn. Although, the was some rustling in the field from something but it was keen to keep to itself.
