I wasn't aware of her work, but RIP. those of us who see how much people love graphic novel collections in libraries owe her a debt.

I just found out about #Kiln Share—an app that allows you to find people in your area who will let you fire #ceramics in their kiln at low cost. If you don’t already have a membership, ceramics studios often charge a crazy amount per piece to fire, so this is great. I’m going to list my kilns later today. I see that there’s one other shared kiln in my town. I’m curious who they are and I’m interested to see how this may connect me to other ceramic artists in my area. https://www.kilnshare.com/en/sign-up/form/
First day designing for the upcoming #solovember2026 jam. I know I’m one day ahead but it’s fine :thisisfine:
I’m going for a Wretched and Alone type of game where you play as a child trying to unravel a magic mystery. Becoming adult means losing their touch with magic so clock is ticking. The journal would take the form of very simple drawings (eg stickmen) and couples of words.
PS: jam partners are welcome

Halloween tradition: passing out fruit and veg seeds. Since the fertilizer/oil shortages are likely to affect food security, I passed out 10 varieties of seeds to grow throughout the year. It took me all month to collect, pack and label. I made 20 bags and was able to pass out 17 to different families. (Last year it was only 15).
This is part of my food security in climate change project.

We knitters and crocheters get to get riled up all the time about authenticity - now it’s the basket weavers’ time, I guess.
Wheelchair users, how does one get over an obstacle like this: a pretty high treshold or curb where the ground level drops after the treshold (usually with a doorway to pass through as a bonus)? I find it tricky, if not impossible to wheelie over, and going backwards is downright terrifying/asking for a crushed skull. Nicely Halloween appropriate, but I get enough stares as it is.
Any tips or tricks other than praying or having someone there to help? 1/2
We lost power for about ten minutes JUST as I was getting ready for a post-workout pre-bedtime shower. It came back just as I was struggling to find batteries for our emergency lamp/charging station, so the good news is that I now know that we need to add D batteries to our shopping list.
New fun insult just dropped: “I see you are committed to your current level of understanding.”
british person: i love tea. i drink tea every day. for my entire life i drink tea every single day
non-british person who's really into tea: oh cool, what type of tea??
british person: i don't know
Have you heard about the proposed rule change for the 2030 US Census?
It’s bad!
To not count all US residents would be a huge mistake and detrimental to our country. Not collecting racial and ethnic information would be an additional problem. This type of information has been collected since the very first census in 1790.
A group called Hands Off Our Census has put together information on the proposal and how to write an effective comment opposing it. It’s really well done!
Either I need to get off the Internet OR watch the Muppet Christmas Carol more often (or both), because the instant the chorus started up, I immediately thought of this Tumblr post
My Muppet-loving soul is pretty torn about Walmart's new Who Knew Carol (Muppet Christmas Carol with Walton Goggins as Scrooge, Stephanie Beatriz as "Scrooge's Niece" and a bunch of Muppets and blue Walmart bags that were definitely not in the original movie).
It's crassly commercial, but that's... Not antithetical to the Muppets, I think? And the sense of humour feels Muppet-y, and I'm just happy to see the Muppets in action. And yet...
Got my new shirt! Really digging the v-neck. The graphic placement feels a bit off, but I like it more than the one from before #LLAP #FarahMakesThings
