Things I Did Not Know: After their defeat and loss at Copenhagen in 1807, the Danes responded by planting 90,000 oak trees toward the Navy’s rebirth. The Danish Nature Agency, successor to the royal forester, informed the Defense Ministry in 2007 that their trees were ready.
(So that means that we will have to repel the Danes again soon.")

You have to admire their long term strategic planning

Speaking of drawing. Can you folks do me a favor. About one and a half years ago, I promised a nice person on here to draw her a portrait of herself as a robo girl. Then I had to go to the hospital for 2 months and then I switched servers without looking back. I would still like to fulfill her wish but I cannot for the life of me remember who she was. If the person is still on fedi, please help me reach her through reposting this so she can contact me via DM and I can get that drawing going.

(Also I really hope to remember the pronouns correctly. I remember it was a fellow trans person.)

Happy 83rd birthday to the plastic traffic cone: Patented in the USA in November 1943; abused in Glasgow ever since!

Au naturelle was the order of the day. One of the friendly staff I’ve known for years was on the checkout, so we had a bit of chat while I tried to put all my groceries neatly in bags.

"All alone, somebody is dancing. Their dance partner has been lost, yet the dance goes on. But then, suddenly, there come others, joining the dance. The sorrowful atmosphere dissipates. Now there is joy and laughter. A new light has come."

I finally got around to recording something again! This is Damhsóir Uaigneach, an original composition written between June and September this year.

And, of course, thankful that I get to make such decisions.

Decisions, decisions. Do I bother with warpaint to go to Morrisons? A part of me says I should make a bit of an effort. Another part says why bother, it’s just a supermarket trip.

Currently siding with part two.

As it's my birthday today, I always have a little moment of reflection & gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who follows, supports, comments and purchases my photography. I'm proud of what I've created with Tube Mapper and love sharing it with you all!

Many thanks 😊

I’m not going to edit that post. Context, and all that. Moving on…

As I may have mentioned, I’ve been here four years now. In that time I’ve made lots of new friends, shared ups and downs, and been kept informed just enough to keep anger on the simmer. Thanks, everyone! Here’s to more years of fedifun!

Morning world. I think I will raid the supermarket this morning. Then, I think, I shall shit myself off from the outside world again. Back to normal.

At last, my package has been delivered. It’s just as well it wasn’t anything important.

I can relax now.

And the delivery is late. It’s now pitch black, and the driver won’t find the doorbell in the dark.

Ack.

do i know anybody who can make a very simple pattern for a 3d printer to produce?

i need a tray for holding stacks of poker-sized cards. technically i need two trays, one for six stacks of cards and one for eight stacks. ideally with a lid? anyway it seems simple to me, but just outside my personal skillset. anybody think they can help, or know somebody who might?

boosts appreciated.

Not walking today. It’s boring, even with music or a decent podcast in my ears. Anyway, #WaitingBrain has kicked in, with two hours to go for the delivery slot opening.

Stupid brain.

In case I miss it, or forget, tomorrow marks my fourth fediversary.

My thanks to @Floppy, @CatherineFlick and the other moderators for keeping the mastodon.me.uk instance a safe, happy and fun place to be. When I get a few quid spare, I’ll try and remember to make a supporting donation.

Another phone call done. I could go for a walk now, but I really don’t want to. Maybe after lunch.

*chokes on instant coffee*

I'm afraid I would be afraid to ever put a record anywhere near something this expensive! It's a turntable. How can it ever cost that much for a turntable?

*sadly shakes head*

One phone call done. Well, text, actually. Called Mum and got approval for the latest wheeze. My delayed delivery will be between 1608 and 1708 this afternoon. So, I *could* go and do the grocery shop, or not. Probably not.

I feel more like hibernating, frankly.

Do you need clips of snow leopards cuddling? Yes. Yes, you do :3
