pitch: "Modern Day Poirot", where the crime is solved in 5 mins, but the next 25 minutes is year long legal battles, multiple appeal cases and fundraising to keep the case going. The proof is classic Poirot, but the guilty never confesses. As dark comedy.

Anatomy of a billionaire.

Live++ 2.11.5 out now!
http://liveplusplus.tech/releases.html

Added support for /libpath, fixed "main-file-name" for Clang and fixed a nasty bug that could result in the dreaded "Patch was loaded outside 2GB range" error.

Thanks to everybody for reporting these issues.
Enjoy!

RIP BioWare. The last time I was madly in love with a BioWare game was Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2, but they made many of my favorite CRPGs like Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2 and Knights of the Old Republic, and while Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 1 and 2 never quite reached that same apex for me personally, they were still the best CRPGs of their era. I didn't know anyone who was still left at BioWare, but it's sad to see the death of a company with that kind of legacy.

3D for movies was here to stay, they said.

Beckett is almost fully blind these days, which makes him look a bit like a ghost even without the aid of a Spooky Hat :) He's the best haunted little dog 🖤

The procedural lakes are really taking shape now! No more trees or grass under the water! (Still some towers and paths though; one thing at a time...)

I only used existing splat-maps and textures here (grass, cliff, forest, gravel) but it's fairly serviceable.

Tired of getting prompted for elevation whenever you start a capture? So were we!

We just released a new Insider update that adds a system-installed capture service. When installed, you no longer need elevation/admin rights to start captures.

You can install the service via `SuperluminalCmd service install` on both Windows and Linux. Once installed, SuperluminalCmd will automatically make use of it, and you can enable the UI to use it via Tools / Settings / General.

Check it out!

I'm working on lakes for my procedural landscape. So far the terrain just continues down under the water with trees, grass and all. But just having the ground and water surface generated such that the water edge is never above-ground was a hard-won achievement. 😅

It is International Raccoon Appreciation Day. This is from Ranger Rick Magazine, which I grew up with. 🥹 It delights me to know it's still in circulation, teaching kids about wildlife.

Fun story: When I was traveling home I wore my "Watch Herzog" t-shirt for travel day. It's got a giant picture of Werner's face on it.

This fucked up every single facial recognition program both the Mexican and US passport control areas to the point that agents for both countries had to pull me aside and verify my identity the old fashioned way.

So t-shirts with big faces on them don't work well with AI Facial recognition systems. Figured that would be interesting information around here.
