Every elected and appointed Republican at the federal, state, and local levels, should be investigated, charged, convicted, and sentenced for being a part of an insurrectionist movement and a conspiracy to overthrow the United States government.
If you can’t afford a pumpkin this Halloween, just know it’s because of this single house’s insatiable gourd demand driving up prices.
This also explains why it is that the people you keep seeing shoved in your face as "liberal thought leaders" are always pushing moderate conservatism and placating reactionaries:
-Nate Silver
-Steven Pinker
-Matt Yglesias
-Noah Smith
-Malcolm Gladwell
-Jonathan Haidt
-Ezra Klein
-Richard Hanania
-Jesse Singal...
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that they are all rich men who are indifferent to the struggles of the poor, women, victims of genocide, and racial and gender minorities!
Advice for female-presenting persons: if a male doctor asks if you've been under stress lately: SAY NO. Tell him life is great. Don't budge. Make the fucker actually figure out what's wrong.
I don't know a single woman who hasn't gotten the stress brush-off, only to get a real diagnosis later.
It's bullshit. Sometimes lying to your doctor is the right thing to do.
Looking at craft supplies on eBay, and one of my policies is that if they aren't clear about what they are selling -- that is, if they don't say IN WORDS, clearly, unambigiously, what they are selling, all the pictures in the world will not get me to buy their stuff. Because their pictures could be the equivalent of a "serving suggestion" rather than what they are actually selling.
And if their listing description has nothing but pictures, that's a fail.
And if their listing has a paragraph of content-free marketroid-speak followed by a jumble of words without any punctuation, that is also a fail.
Extract from current example:
"It has a wide of application. Adequate quantity can easily meet your daily use and replacement needs." (and so on)
and under package contents it says:
"90 x Ribbon Ends Clamps Lobster Clasps 200 x Rings Iron Tail Chains 1"
I mean, does it mean that they have 90 ribbon ends, or does it mean they have a total of 90 (ribbon-ends plus clamps plus lobster clasps)? Are there ribbon ends and clamps, or are they ribbon-ends-clamps? Does it mean that they have 200 rings? One chain? 200 chains? WHAT? -- I could GUESS, but why should I spend money on a guess? I could inquire, but if their listing is so unclear that I need to inquire, then they do not deserve my precious time spent inquiring.

Etsy bans AI-made crochet patterns and recipes, and wants proof yours actually work
Etsy has banned AI-generated patterns, recipes and instructions. Sellers must now show a real finished result, while disclosed AI art is still allowed.
Had dinner with the white cis straight friend yesterday and he could not for the life of him comprehend why everything from conversation to meet and greets went so much better when you approach and or talk to, and or interact with women without any pretends, expectations, sexual or otherwise, or stupid as fuck pickup lines. He then lamented that there should be a blueprint for women, and I asked him if he read any romance novel ever, and he replied, no, because those are not realistic.
I'm beginning to think heterosexual men are obtuse by design.
Bark Lynx Spider - #Arachtober 21
On day two of the City Nature Challenge this year, I noticed something dangling from my hat and found this little Bark Lynx Spider. Every time I see this species now, I think of that cute moment. Recently on one of our Arachtober spider hunts, I told my girlfriend that four eyes are better than two. She corrected me: we both wear glasses, so we have eight eyes. Just like a spider!

Just washed those waffle weave towels I was working on. They just came out of the dryer. I'm so tickled by them. I knew they were going to be 3 dimensional, but actually seeing them...I just can't get over it. Still have to hem.
@TindrasGrove The ramen noodles are in the upper right
Reposting this from my previous instance:
This is by far the most complicated project I've worked on, but definitely was worth it for the practice. This collar is based off the pattern for figure 106 in the Priscilla tatting book (1915), and took about two weeks to make with the time I have after work and all day on the weekends. I estimate the collar has about 10,383 stiches, and all of it could be done with single shuttle and continuous thread. I had to mave some of my own modifications to the pattern because it didn't quite turn out the same as the original reference pictures, and there are some modern techniques that give it a cleaner look.
In the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, there's a Little Library that is currently haunted, in keeping with the thinning of the veil between the world of the living & the dead.

Back in 2025 when Elon‘s attack on empathy was doing the attention cycle, I started nosing around. You can get a broader picture of the effort being put into eradicating empathy, which by the way they can’t do because human society requires the ability to coordinate emotion.
Empathy is the great egalitarian equalizer. That’s why high control groups need to expropriate it
Next, the MAGANazis came for the voters, and I knew what that meant too because I've read the rest of the fucking poem.
@Lana interestingly they are the very sort of people whod try to reframe emotional abuse as ordinary family conflict
Ebay's latest update is opting you in for scraping your data to train AI... so go to the settings and turn that shit off.
We should nationalize all the AI corps and then shut them down. (and tax the billionaires out of existence)
Not an ounce of self awareness.
