Meanwhile, I've had an email from NHS England's DPO telling me that my objection to my personal health data being given to the Palantir spyware organisation has not been upheld 😬

@BashStKid @kim_harding I hope the Finns sue the everything out of Google for this. Reparations, costs, everything to try to restore the forest. All unpaid taxes to be paid in full with 100% (minimum) interest, per day.

Then fine them, extradite everyone concerned, and jail them for at least 20 years. In solitary!

Send the correct message to these big "untouchable" companies.

I've seen about half a dozen posts today where folks have identified a simple thing the government could easily do to fix a thing people want fixed.

I assume the reason the government does nothing about any of those things is that it takes bribes from vested interests.

If, IF AN EMPLOYEE, were to send an EMPLOYER a threatening letter in most companies, and certainly in the Civil Service, the EMPLOYEE would certainly be REPRIMANDED if not instantly DISMISSED.

Sorry for the capitals, MP's are our representatives and for that, the threatening letters impact us the voters directly.

It is simply not satisfactory.

Report: Palantir Targets UK MPs With ‘Intimidating’ Letters

"British MPs who criticised Palantir in parliament received 'intimidating' letters from the US spytech firm".

Eg, Palantir warned Clive Lewis that it "was surveilling his activities relating to Palantir last month", a letter that Lewis described as “very Big Brother” & an “implicit threat”.

Report: Mass UK protests are planned for Oct 31 against the ban on Palestine Action.

Outside the US embassy in London & the consulate in Edinburgh, protestors will be asking if Trump pressured the UK to outlaw the group.

Days later, the UK Supreme Court will hear an appeal by Palestine Action's Huda Ammori against the ban.

More than 3,850 have been arrested since the ban.

The BBC are "very compliant to Israel" about Gaza & won't allow the word "genocide".

In Francesca Albanese's report on western media's pro-Israel reporting, the BBC was the worst, camouflaging Israeli responsibility in 83% of headlines.

"BBC presenters dismissed assertions that Israel was committing genocide while not reporting Israeli leaders’ genocidal statements”.

Jail would be better. He can watch from his cell as his empire is dismantled, sold off or nationalized.

The world needs the UN. And the UN needs us all.

This United Nations Day, we reaffirm the importance of working together to tackle global challenges no nation can solve alone.

Over the years, the EU has worked hand in hand with the UN and partners around the world to address issues that affect us all, from peace and security to human rights, climate change, and global health.

And we will continue to work together.

Europe will always stand for international law and multilateralism.

In 1969, Kurt Vonnegut offered this sharp and still remarkably timely critique of American attitudes toward poverty through the voice of Howard W. Campbell Jr. in Slaughterhouse-Five.

The belief that anyone can become wealthy encourages people experiencing poverty to blame themselves rather than question the economic and social structures that shape their circumstances. #books

Oh, I see the government has an "AI plan".

Not a single mention of its carbon footprint. This government really doesn't understand that the number one threat we face is not from rogue AI, from economic slowdown, or from Russia, it's from climate collapse.

What is wrong with these people?

Basic education piece:

Not all Jewish people are Zionists.

Lots of Zionists aren't Jews.

The Board of Deputies largely self identity as Zionists.

The Media often report the Board of Deputies as the opinion of Jewish people.

Yet many Jewish people say #NotInOurName

Anyone here using Linux Mint have a good recommendation to run my own cloud server? I have an old laptop that I use as a Jellyfin server and I thought that since I'm always getting annoyed having to log into my iCloud through a browser to transfer things between two other laptops, that having my own cloud would be easier.

Looking for something that doesn't require an IT degree to set up.

Thanks.
