For those who don't know, she was one of the fiercest opponents to trans bans.
 
She unseats the former House Speaker in a senate seat R's have held for decades.

She was partly responsible for the MO Ban's sunset clause!

Using an area map of districts and shading it according to the winner is grossly misleading.
Huge red areas in the Midwest that have very few house seats. But you get the impression of overwhelming Republican presence in the US. The NYT gives us a terrible example.
Using a square per seat gives you a much better representation. Most of the US districts are Democrat blue. AP has a great example.

I just called my Colorado Representative and Senators and asked them to choose new candidates for Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader. I do not believe that Jeffries or Schumer are up to the task of harnessing the positive energy of this #BlueWave to do great things for us.

There are a lot of things Dems should do for the next two years, but one of the most important is to pass bills that we need even if Trump vetoes them. Make the GOP publicly vote against what people actually want over and over, against the bills and against overriding Trump's vetoes. Then the Dem presidential candidate in 2028 can point at all the bills and say "Congress will pass all these laws again when I'm president, and I'll sign them all." And then they should do that too.

Every time Jeffries talks about "what Americans want" or "what Democrats want" just depresses me. It just makes me think he's talking about what *he* wants and dressing it up in the royal we.

I don't want "revenge" per se Hakeem but I am desperate for some accountability. If you fail to deliver on that, there are going to be major Democratic losses next election.

Every other Democrat I've seen talk about this point, particularly the newly elected freshmen, says we can and should do both.

I'm really glad Mike Johnson is on the way out but Democrats really need to primary this guy and replace him with a true coalition builder who isn't immediately alienating with "I'm going to simply pretend people with opinions that differ from mine don't exist".
