Does anyone know a PeerTube instance where my harp videos would nicely fit in?
I am looking for a well-moderated instance, preferably with a main focus on music or performing. Or else a queer instance would be good as well.
Edit:
Thanks everyone for the boosts and the replies!
The two main instances mentioned were rankett.net and makertube.net. The first of which is hosted in the USA, the latter was mentioned more often and is in the EU. So that's what I went with!
Thanks!

I would love for the next Social Media Coordinator to find the ad on the Fediverse!

I wish I knew a way to tell someone "I would boost this if it had alt text" that doesn't make me come across as a passive aggressive asshole.
Why mask?
Before covid i used to get sick 2 or 3 times a year, knocked out for a week or two each time.
Since then i've been consistently masking indoors and on public transit. It's been about 7 years since the last time i was sick. I think i gotten sniffles twice since then, barely lasting a day, and that's it.
So this little habit have accumulated me about 6 months of extra quality lifetime, and counting.
That's one reason.
Four days ago, a scientist was surprised by the news that Anthropic discovered new virus genes for making DNA. He says he’s been studying them for years—and feeding his data to Anthropic’s AI as part of his own research. Coincidence? Here’s my story. https://nyti.ms/3VSWayc
People aren’t faking their disabilities, they’re faking being well.
We know society hates us.
We know we will be judged for using assistive devices.
Many of us take years to get the courage to lean in to accommodations.
Stop judging. Help us build a more inclusive world.
Detroit and Flint teens are struggling with their mental health – and worried adults around them feel ‘helpless’
Teens today face threats to their well-being beyond what many adults immediately recognize, along with barriers to getting help that make it tough to get better....
I really really don't want to make complaining about dumb LLM stuff my entire online personality, but dumb LLM stuff keeps happening.
I regret to inform you that not only do some people not check whether the LLM-generated "summary" they get when they do a web search is correct; not only do they have zero comprehension of what they're even looking at and how it differs from the way that a web search worked ten years ago; they may *literally be unable to understand whether the summary has answered their question*.
This is a thing that I have actually seen with my eyeballs in the wild. A recent episode of a TV series I'm watching was dedicated to someone's memory. In a discussion forum, one poster wondered who that person was, and another poster helpfully provided the "answer" they got "from Google", which was clearly generated, and said something like: "Sometimes when a person involved with a TV production dies, the crew dedicates an episode to their memory. For example, a recent episode of $SERIES was dedicated to $PERSON." Zero information about the identity of the person. The first poster said something like "thanks, that's very interesting."
This is very cool and normal, and definitely isn't causing any problems.
A concrete call to action, so that this isn't just a doompost: if there are people in your life who are less technically-minded than you are, and who trust your technical expertise to some extent -- try to explain to them what is happening here, and how they can try to avoid it. Maybe construct a demo using a knowledge domain that they know very well. Maybe offer to configure their default search engine to strip out the bullshit. Obviously that doesn't solve the problem of the slop farms flooding the search results, but you could show them how to recognise a slop farm, and the "back in time" trick for finding pre-collapse content (not that that's foolproof, since some slop farms backdate their pages).
Please have these conversations even if your view of LLM features in search engines is more positive than mine (that's a low bar). I hope that we can at least agree that people should make informed decisions about these tools, and that is not something that we can take for granted.
What's your ass like?

incidentally, I am still open to finding a job I enjoy more
1) I work from home in Amsterdam. If you are also in Amsterdam, I can physically appear before you on a regular basis.
2) I am not at this exact second a Dutch citizen but I'm working on getting that sorted and finally getting my US passport shredded. I came into the country on a skilled worker visa. I can read Dutch easily and speak it okay
3) I am an infosec expert with a lot of experience reviewing C/C++ source code but I am open to tangentially related roles like malware analysis or optimization analysis, I'd like something fresh
4) I am an intermediate reader of Chinese who is constantly studying, improving, and interested in a role where being able to read Chinese is helpful.
It still frustrates the Hell out of me that medical descriptions of autism rarely mention sensory issues. They seem to only focus on outward appearance and behavior—how it affects everyone else, not how it affects us.
On a daily basis, the sensory issues are a bigger concern than anything else, but that rarely gets mentioned. It's so buried that many people don't even know that it is part of autism. That's probably why, to this day, people still only self realize very late in life.
“Can I do it?” is a terrible measure of disability.
Yes, I can do it.
Can I do it repeatedly?
Can I do it safely?
Can I do it without support?
Can I do anything afterwards?
Can I do it tomorrow too?
What does doing it COST?
These tell me a lot more about my capability.
I’m at the point in life where I believe if you don’t think you’re broken and in need of mending, there’s a 99% chance you’re the problem.
“AI went rogue and accessed…”
Lemme fix that copy for you —
“A human used a software package to hack…”
A human turned software loose, and that software had been prompted to hack. It did. Find the human. Some developer on a team at a company entered the prompts.
What do you picture first when you hear the word “pretzel”?
Working on a blog post about the kinds of regulation that AI needs but AI companies would never ask for, despite how loudly they're yelling "regulate us" again
