The following is a message composed via consensus of the pony.social Admin Team.

For those who are not currently aware of our existence, we represent the organization known as pony.social. Our previous mission centered around providing a gay and friendly place on the fediverse. This mission was the focus of our organization for almost a decade.

Due to circumstances outside of our control, this directive has now changed. Our new mission will be to piss on the sun because FUCK IT'S TOO WARM AAAAAAAA.

There will be no further communication.

I can't be the only one that is starting to feel like the safety profiles thing is becoming something that is just the traditional opener to a c++ standards revision?

Anyway, Bjarne did write a neat executive summary:

• Profiles are essential for the future of C++
• Profiles will not break your existing code
• Profiles will not prevent your favorite new feature
• Profiles are part of a long tradition of C++ evolution
• The alternative is incompatible, ad hoc restrictions

pony.social is back on it's feed after a long host migration, we should run a bit more stable now (and less slow).

I'll keep an eye on performance and try to allocate resources to the clusters.

alright, after some eval, I've found a new hoster for pony.social that is more likely to offer the performance I'm looking for. Current hoster just isn't it, in terms of price per performance.

I'll try to make the transition as seamless as possible. And hopefully that makes data exports work again, it seems at they cause sidekiq to OOM on the current setup.

looks like the new spooky 9.9 CVE is just a bug in CUPS that lets a remote attacker emulate the experience of installing an HP color printer driver on your linux system.

Granted, this is tragic, but also CUPS isn't exactly a pretty system to begin with, so not sure where to go from here.

now that it's been 4 years since I've not written any go code, it might be time to actually become active in the golang discord again, so that my "active and helpful person" tag in there doesn't feel too unearned.
