XUASTC was just released ❤️❤️❤️
https://github.com/BinomialLLC/basis_universal

allowing for all ASTC Block sizes to be used on the web, once support lands in the big web 3D libraries like @mrdoob 's Three.js.

To me, this is huge. Relying on pre-calculated lighting when building stuff like https://mymachine.dmgmori.com , I constantly fight for VRAM, as older iPhones have very strict limits. XUASTC brings the all the remaining modern GPU compression schemes to the web in a standardized manner.

How? How is Azure Frontdoor broken?! It's been days. #MICROSOFT get your S!$# together.

Azure Frontdoor outage still not resolved, but got progressively worse, even though the #microsoft outage is supposedly resolved. Status page also silent, what a mess.

Had timeouts since Friday, now a straight up: "All Changes to Azure Frondoor Configuration are blocked currently."

New article released! 🚀 #SoME4

@11ty Any way to --watch --serve and force a full page reload each time, instead of a hot reload?

I do lots of WebGL. And WebGL state doesn't do well with Hot reloads, breaks in all sorts of different ways depending on browser. I always need to full page reload manually after. Any way to automate that?

@BenHouston3D Surprised by https://web3dsurvey.com reporting Android WebGL 2 compatibility being at 99% ( https://web3dsurvey.com/webgl2 ) but Android WebGL 1 extension OES_TEXTURE_FLOAT being at only 55% ( https://web3dsurvey.com/webgl/extensions/OES_texture_float ), even though that capability is prerequisite for WebGL 2. Any idea as to why?

@soatok Looong time reader of your blog ❤

@kubuntu #Kubuntu 24.04 install experience with a RTX 4090 and monitor over DP was not good. Normal install -> No Image. Install with safe graphics works, but unlike #ubuntu, not option for "install proprietary drivers". Install boots with black screen. Had to go into recovery mode with root & networking to `ubuntu-drivers autoinstall`. No way the average user should be expected figure that out.
Other than that, great experience.

WTF Microsoft.
Colleagues use Outlook's Copilot E-Mail translation for Japanese E-Mails and it's capital I - Insane.

Translated Looking forward for future correspondence as:
"Kind regards, I'm going to Kill Myself"
and signed by "The Devil". But the name was already in English, so it changed the Name to the Devil. Looney Tunes level of software gore

Turns out, you can use Sushi Nori Sheets as video filters...
