    I have seen examples where it did something akin to:

    `let string = "this-is-a-string".replace(" ", "-")` complete with hard coded string and a replacement that'd never replace anything. Is the string the correct output? Sure? What's that replace doing there?

    (Edit: This was during a code review I was obliged to perform, I do not prompt the slop machine myself)

    @cthos About the only good part of reviewing AI-generated code is that since it wasn't written by a person, I don't feel inclined to let minor issues slide, provide thorough constructive criticism, etc. Particularly when, by looking at it at all, I've already probably engaged more with the code than whoever submitted it.

    @complexmath Yeah, I try to be nice to the humans I'm interacting with but if I see some weird stuff in Vibe coded stuff, all bets are off.

    @cthos
    The sad part is that the other human who prompted the LLM didn't bother to review their own code.

    Sometimes it's easy to forget, but for years I try to always review the diff (not the file) to catch things like that and other nits like spaces at the end of lines, etc.

    @encthenet Yep. Either by choice or vigilance fatigue, or being pressured by mgmt, etc.

    The quality check is now being externalized on someone else.
