I baked the clafoutis per one of the BBC recipes and it’s an unappetizing color. Taste was fine. I don’t think I’m into clafoutis and would rather just make cake with fruit in it.

Do some recipes call for an acid to stop this weird color? Or does the kirsch (I did not use) minimize it?

A half eaten baked good in a white dish with scalloped edges and a spoon sticking out. The food is dark golden brown and mottled with dark specks (those are the cherries). The spoon has remnants of the custard and its grey-purple.
