Aug 13, 2026, 1:37 PMI just want to say: zero-hours contracts are viciously exploitative. Yes some people working for pocket money might find them convenient, but if you rely on the work then you have no security.
You can't say no to unreasonable demands because your employer might ghost you. This shit contributed to my partner's eventual disability.
The "but students want no-commitment work so they can go to festivals" thing is valid, but it needs to be addressed by giving workers MORE rights, not taking all their rights away.
