This is a power grab. AI tools are embedded in so many projects because companies needed to "prove" their value.
Now, people forced to use these tools will have their work infected with the AI stench, whether they meant to use AI or not.
@funnymonkey For a watermark to survive *plain text* it would have to be some kind of code, like “A N T H R O P I C” spelled out sequentially in the text or something, right?
I'm unfamiliar in how Claude AI watermarking is all going to work too. What little I've read is that the watermark is in the font/text. I wondered too how you'd be unable to not copy and paste it to remove it. And will it require the good will of other software to not destroy the hidden watermark? Something like how scanners won't scan currency? Will it be the same as the anti forgery methods used by governments for their current where many of the measures won't ever be discussed?
