The wellness market share consists of many parts that while easy to and worth criticizing are not related to alternative medicine and antivax movements. The closest is "traditional and conplementary medicine" with a global share of 553 billion, a fraction of pharmaceuticals

The main reason being the strong regulations on pharmaceuticals to do little harm and mostly be effective, whereas wellness just has to not be really poisonous.

May 9, 2025, 7:49 PM@luckytran I'm really torn about this. There's a scenario where Casey Means adapted her discourse about vaccines to be able to have such a position (for good or bad, maybe she's an extremist and is publicly prudent).
I hope she does good things, because there are areas where I believe in her message, like eating less ultra processed foods, removing harmful pesticides, limiting micro plastic exposure…
Maybe some good can come of it?
(It could also be drowned into antivaccines nightmare measures)
