    I see that they use the same "idea" of one's citizenship as the Uruguayan DNIC (National Directorate of the Civic Identification): in my documents here it is stated that I'm a citizen of the *USSR* (which was *technicacally* correct while it existed, even if I never had a passport issued by the USSR).

    And, to add insult to injury, when you do get a Uruguayan passport, they will still list your nationality as that of your birth country.
