It's possible that if Hantavirus is transmissible before start of symptoms, or can spread asymptomatically that this individual just made contacts out of everyone who was in that bar when they were, as well as everyone who was in there after, because Hantavirus spreads through saliva and fecal matter. It contaminates environments, not just the air.
The guy was on the same flight to South Africa as the wife of the man who was patient zero. She was severely ill while traveling and died in South Africa. The dingbat basically continued to play tourist and was staying at a B&B in Italy and apparently had hooked up with someone who has now been forced to quarantine along with him (because she is most definitely a close contact of him).
Frankly, everyone in that bar and anywhere else he went should be slammed into quarantine too, but authorities are pretending that this virus doesn't have pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic spread at this point.
Like, he's staying at a B&B? Are the bathrooms en suite or shared? Has he been having breakfast in a shared dining room every morning and potentially contaminated the breakfast room. Where in Italy is this and what has he been doing with his days there?
