I recently saw this Japanese youtuber say that in Japan people over 12 years old rarely hang out with their parents, since these want their kids to be as independent as possible. Meanwhile, 40-year-olds living with their parents in the Dominican Republic be like "Mommy, can you make me macawoni and cheese pwetty please uwu"

I've been living mostly by myself since I was 17, but if it was up to my Mom I would still be living at home as she makes macawoni and cheese pwetty please uwu.

Also, yeah, no matter how old, people here would still call their parents "mommy," and "daddy." Yes, I think it's stupid. Yes, I still do it myself, LOL. Although I mostly call them "old lady," and "old man."
