Apparently the next Japanese #baseball sensation to make it to #MLB will be Seibu Lions pitcher Kaima Taira. I've seen multiple reports of up to 30 MLB scouts attending games where we was starting. Wondering how hard can it be putting a prototype together? The absolute bare minimum would be a Windows/Linux/Android app capable of converting video via ffmpeg, and sharing a folder's content with all peers, plus being able to see other peers videos 🤔

I've been thinking — which doesn't happen often — wouldn't a peer-to-peer video sharing platform be entirely possible? No servers involved (unless you decide to rent a seedbox), your machine is the host, viewers seed the videos by simply watching, clients manage video conversion and other related stuff through ffmpeg (subtitles are added to a .mkv container), videos play locally through VLC, other metadata like thumbnails is managed somehow(?). A kind of "PeerTube" if you like.

Also tried Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū 2010 hoping to find a nice arcade baseball game but what I got instead was the most complex baseball video game in the history of humanity. Lost the first game 0-60, the next one 0-29, and even after hours of playing I couldn't score one mere run. I know that part of it it's me sucking, but c'mon, the game has no right being that complicated.

Recently finished Ridge Racers for the #PSP; now trying Minna No Golf Portable, AKA Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, AKA Everybody's Golf Portable. Never really cared for golf but the game is pretty good, its acardy style pairs well with my long sessions of Japanese listening. Of course I'm playing the game in Japanese and still trying to figure out some stuff, text usually flashes very briefly on screen so that's a problem but I'm getting by.
