Sucks to hear about the Double Fine Action Union debacle. Reading about it, I think I might have some advice for the unit wrt unit composition and how to create a unit that includes a number of supervisor types who with all their authority do not meet the threshold of management, as my former workplace HAS DONE SO and ARGUED SUCCESSFULLY in front of the National Labor Relations Board and the belligerent management that had hired Ogletree Deakins to argue against our unit composition.

In short: if your role doesn't have an explicit control and final word over the functioning of the corporation or a department wrt hiring or NOT hiring, firing or not firing, promoting or punishing employees, you are just a supervisor following internal regulation and not a manger, and should be able to make a case for common interest with the rest of the unionables.
