#Playtime never ends on #JukeboxFridayNight!

Just having a ball with some Nintendo
Hit it!"

#Playtime continues on #JukeboxFridayNight. Some games are rougher than others.

"They made hypocrite judgements after the fact
But the name of the game is be hit and hit back."
Dropping an early entry in the #JukeboxFridayNight theme of #Playtime, the title track from Kim Gordon's latest solo album.

Fine, here's a stab at the #my9films thing. It's impossible, of course, but less impossible than choosing just 9 albums.
This is like the third time in a week I've used a Pagans song for one of these things. Not gonna apologize for that. They wrote some real scorchers and deserve to be better known!
For this week's #ThursdayFiveList we are #CallingForSomething. I wonder what will answer.
* The Mountain Goats, "Cry for Judas" (2012) https://youtu.be/bptnhUOG2GU
* Speedy Ortiz, "Summon It" (2011) https://speedyortiz.bandcamp.com/track/summon-it
* Dry Cleaning, "Anna Calls from the Arctic" (2022) https://youtu.be/lYNwr7wuRHY
* The Pagans, "What's This Shit Called Love?" (1978) https://youtu.be/Zmc9tcyVENw
* The Baseball Project, "Don't Call Them Twinkies" (2011) https://youtu.be/PwQWnv-PyGc
One more #YesYesYes (or rather 2 more yeahs) for #TuneTuesday:
The Pagans, "Yeah Yeah" (1979? from 2001 compilation)
https://youtu.be/ucLrPsroq-0
"Every time I see a millionaire, I say, 'yeah yeah!'
Wanna put 'em in an electric chair? I say, 'yeah, yeah!'"
Since "yeah" songs have been officially sanctioned by @Kitty, I've got some more #YesYesYes contributions for #TuneTuesday:
Magnetic Fields, "Yeah! Oh, Yeah!" (1999)
https://youtu.be/VHvYXyresFM
"Do I drive you up the wall?
Do you dread every phone call?
Can you not stand me at all?
Yeah! Oh, yeah!"
We are advised to have an affirmative #TuneTuesday, with songs that shout #YesYesYes. Positivity is not my forte, but here goes:
Tampa Red, "My Baby Said Yes" (1935, from a 1997 compilation)
https://youtu.be/5WsniRFq2kU
I'd never heard of Tampa Red until last year, when I found his 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘣𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 compilation. It's solid, slide guitar blues, but the kazoo parts are what really sell it.
Pretty straightforward selections by the RoboDJ today.
"Sufferin' Till Suffrage" is from the 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬 series of 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬! (all of which were released as a box set back in the 90s).
The Tall Dwarfs track is originally from the 3EPs album, included on the big 2022 compilation of their catalog, 𝘜𝘯𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥.
"Steak for Chicken" belongs among the #PerfectSongs for its hilarious but unrepeatable rhymes. Iykyk.
Today's #MondayRandom10

Happy birthday to 𝘔𝘰𝘣𝘺-𝘋𝘪𝘤𝘬!
Herman Melville's novel was first published 10/18/1851 as 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘦 by Richard Bentley of London.
In the October 1851 issue of 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘦, "The Town Ho's Story" was published, with a footnote reading: "From 'The Whale'. The title of a new work by Mr. Melville, in the press of Harper and Brothers, and now publishing in London by Mr. Bentley."
The #LifetimePlaylist train arrives at #1979 today, another rich year for #PerfectSongs (especially punk ones):
* The Clash, “Death or Glory”
* B-52’s “Rock Lobster”
* Sugar Hill Gang, “Rapper’s Delight”
* The Pagans, “Eyes of Satan”†
Hon. Mention: Gang of Four, “Anthrax”; Stiff Little Fingers, “Suspect Device”; Clash, “Rudie Can’t Fail”
† Apparently, this wasn't released until the 1986 𝘉𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 compilation, but I'm pretty sure it was recorded in 79 & I love it too much to omit.
For the sake of balance, here's a "calm" song that is, in fact, not very calm at all. When he was little, my son used to dance like a mad imp to it.
Rolling Stones, "Cool, Calm, Collected" (1967)
https://youtu.be/cf3o4FCKB8k
It's #JukeboxFridayNight and all we want is some #PeaceAndCalm. I don't think I've posted any Ornette Coleman for these things, and that's a mistake I'm correcting Right. Now.

This #ThursdayFiveList we practice orienteering by the #CompassRose.

Happy Ada Lovelace Day!
Breaker breaker, we got more #TruckDrivingSongs for #TuneTuesday:
"I was totin' my pack along the dusty Winnemucca road
When along came a semi with a high an' canvas covered load.
'If you're goin' to Winnemucca, Mack, with me you can ride.'
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside."
Johnny Cash, "I've Been Everywhere" (1996)
https://youtu.be/WoIfglXAbh0
Put the hammer down & watch out for Smokey, this #TuneTuesday is all #TruckDrivingSongs!
"Home was anywhere with diesel gas, love was a trucker's hand
Never stuck around long enough for a one night stand"
Magnetic Fields, "Papa Was a Rodeo" (1999)
