The Instax wide film is so much easier to handle than Polaroid! Everything I’ve shot so far today has come out much better. They’re about 66 cents per photo. Not cheap but so much better than Polaroid, and reasonable for how I will use them (i.e. not replacing every photo I take with analog, but supplementing journals and little art projects).

I took a photo of the sky with the sun in the left corner, just to experiment with how easily I could blow out the exposure, and the sky came out pretty well! The little black dot is the sun. The little brown dog is Hazel, being held by her mom, my super sweet neighbor.

    Pink dahlias in a garden.
Arms holding a small brown dog.
A devastatingly handsome man sitting on a couch, and a hand holding up a photo of that same guy on a couch.
A blue sky, with puffy clouds and a small black dot that is actually the sun.

Wow that looks awesome! 😁 And it reminds me that I still need to add Koa's pictures to his old skool photo album (and order new ones, as it's been over 2 months since I ordered some, due to my hand surgery).
I've never dealt with insta kind of cameras, but I really love the results you shared. They look great. Especially for the things you mentioned needing/using them for! 😁 Have fun shooting! :blobcatcamera:

Well, when I knew that I was "getting Koa", I didn't want to make a digital album and have that printed... Granted, I've used such service before, and it's fun to create an album! And who knows, I may get to using them, to make yearly albums or something. I'm still brainstorming about that. 😊

But yeah, I looked for actual albums. I wanted the ones with self sticking pages, as I always struggle to get pictures in straight enough. And I didn't want to hassle with glue or patches or such. The albums aren't too cheap, and then one needs the pictures. But they can really be fun to do. 😊

@sylvia Yeah the mini is really fun but this feels like it's quite a bit clearer!

@hollie yes instax is much more forgiving and also not dependent on temperature like the polaroid.

My instax wide camera is huge though so I settled on the instax square format, a bit smaller than polaroid but I can carry around my lomo instant square glass much more frequently, especially as it folds.

@oook Yeah the Instax wide camera is a total beast. Lomo has a glass for the wide format, too, I'm eyeing that one now that I know how much I love the wide! :)

@hollie I believe the wide also uses AA batteries instead of CR2 which are easier to find at the last minute and makes it usable with rechargeables batteries
