On a more serious note, billionnaires suck, and so does capitalism, but I grew up in a (afterwards post-) socialist country, and to be honest, that sucked a lot worse. Under capitalism, you may die if you do not work. Under Soviet-style socialism, someone is going to see to it that you do.
That is a lot of black and white you are offering here! As if there were no middle ground between absolute socialism and absolute capitalism.
@daarin @nonehitwonder Any of that middle ground still depends on (at least the majority of) people being coerced to work, which OP seems to have a problem with.
@vonxylofon @daarin my position is that modern work is coercive and abusive because it is compulsory if you want regular meals and a warm bed, despite our ability to feed and house everyone right now, today. In our current system, a person's ability to survive at a basic level is impossible unless they allow themselves to be exploited.
I would like us to stop doing that to ourselves.
