Can I cook or can't I

Here's a tour of the "finished" NMS Hyperbole. The saucer section is similar to that of the NMS Dancing Doctor, but two habs wider, with an entire deck for living quarters and dining area. I especially like the warp core in this one, my second so far in my uhhhh fleet.

This ship was a testing prototype for months and months, then I rebuilt the interior, streamlined the hull, and turned it into a really fun daily driver.

Here's what it looked like before I vajazzled it.

She ain't the prettiest 'vette in the hanger, but she's mine, and she packs a wallop, too. @nonehitwonder #NoMansSky

I will see how I do at salvage operations, then maybe screenshot the stats/layout I've got now and try and rebuild something with a little form to it too. I do have a spare C-tier 'vette to play with, just to throw parts on and see what I see.

I thought today was going to be productive, but following a panic attack and a rage embolism, I think I'm done for the day.

They've been insuring my former partner's already-insured car instead of mine, the information for which I have never possessed and so could not possibly have given them, so that's cool.

10am and I've learned that Prudential filed my FMLA wrong so I can't even START TALKING about getting paid until Wednesday (out of money and still with no check on the way), and oh my bank has been insuring the wrong car since June.

Nobody is available to to fix any of it today.

This FMLA thing was supposed to give me space and grace for my mental health, but instead I am destitute and my utilities are being shut off because Prudential misfiled my claim and never paid me. I was unable to attend my psych appointment today because I can't sign in without paying first, and I have no money, no food, no gas, nothing, until Prudential actually pays me for my mental health leave, which is currently just a different flavor of hell.

Prudential filed my shit wrong and has to talk to my employer again, so I haven't seen a paycheck in over a month, I'm out of gas, out of groceries, and there's no end in sight.

This FMLA was for my mental health. 🤡

It's been awhile since I sent this around so I think it's time (especially since I haven't posted it since I moved instances).

At the end of the day, being against billionaires isn't about the individuals, or even the actual money; it's about abusive systems that hurt most of the people most of the time.

It just so happens that we are currently all being coerced into operating within and maintaining those systems for the benefit of a very small group of people in whose best interests it is to avoid the consequences of the abuses that form the foundation of their wealth, and those people happen to be billionaires.

I'm being glib, but in all seriousness, the venn diagram of billionaires who exist because of their ability to abuse with impunity vs the billions of people with inadequate housing due to that same abuse is a fucking circle.

@tehfishman blink three times if you are being held hostage economically

An excruciating 8 minutes of me working out the relative distance of two lamp objects, followed by me deleting and moving the exterior elements of my warp chamber in order to replace the core pieces so that one additional white ring is showing, which also reduces the amount of brass fixture in view. You'll watch as I get elements to almost line up, delete them, and replace them until they are either perfect or as close to perfect as I'm willing to accept for now. I'll do this sort of thing a million times more over the next few weeks, and at some point I'll take apart one of the twelve corvettes I have made in this fashion, piece-by-piece, so I can build another. I don't know exactly how many times I've done this, but it is more than forty.

Reminder: a billion is a thousand million.

The part that really bakes my noodle is that the people who tend to argue in defense of billionaires also tend to believe, as billionaires do, that an inability to gain wealth by any means necessary is somehow itself a moral failing.

As ever, I maintain that this is the worst and stupidest death cult I've ever been in.

*sighhhhhhhhh*

Nobody--NOBODY--nobody in human history has ever earned a billion dollars without benefiting from structurally-supported exploitation and theft, whether directly or by proxy, and no, not even that one billionaire you like; nobody means N O B O D Y.

Yes, I've considered the one outcome you're thinking of. YES, I have considered the outcome you're now fabricating that would never happen, and the answer is still fuck all billionaires.

The only arguments against this depend on the idea that all people work voluntarily and are not being systematically coerced on threat of literal death.

OOPS.
