how do I know? we could completely solve poverty right now for around 10% of elon musk's net worth. but we don't! because there's no money in it. and that's that. end of story.
we could solve hunger and poverty overnight, which would eliminate a huge percentage of health issues to the point it'd make any hypothetical cancer cure blush.

AI is useful for wage suppression and power consolidation. *those* things make money. :)

There is money in it. LOTS of money! The workforce gains that come from this alone would be MASSIVE. Bread and Circuses are often alone what is needed to maintain a regime, and non-impoverished workers are more likely to come up with major breakthroughs.
