I unironically think that generative AI could exist in an anarcho-communist society too.

But just like schools, workplaces, psychiatry and the justice system, it would probably look and work very different to how it does under the current status quo of neoliberal capitalism with authoritarian tendencies. It might not even be immediately recognizable as its capitalist equivalent.

AI under neoliberal capitalism is ethically completely fucked up, because it's funded by fascists and billionaires, driven by those people's incentives, based on the exploitation of small creators, small websites and underpaid third-world workers, takes from the commons and gates it behind a subscription, floods the web and social media with loads of fake bullshit and threatens to move the working class from wage slavery to poverty just to make the already rich even richer.

I don't know the details of how generative AI would be like in anarcho-communism, but it *might* actually be a technology developed and used in ethical ways then.
