In an SVG, if I apply a clip-path to a <use> element which references a <symbol>, the clip-path in evaluated in the symbol's viewBox? Why is that desirable? I've already defined the symbol.

If I want to clip the already-constructed symbol, do I wrap it in a <g> and apply the clip-path to that? Will that work?
