I had to go to a funeral of a friend today.

I wondered, as I do.

How many people are there out of a feeling of obligation? How many actually *cared*?

You can have a large sphere of influence, and care deeply for many…but there’s no guarantee of reciprocity. In fact, it’s unlikely.

I do care deeply for many people, and yet I can narrow down to 3 or fewer…only 1 with certainty, that will actually feel any deep grief when I die. (1/8)
