Anonymity/pseudonymity online was an essential part of my journey understanding and accepting myself and starting to slowly come out of the closet. I really fear for teens who won't have this space in the future because of the laws you push.

Most proponents of "conversion therapy" say the first step to make someone straight is to ban them from interacting with friends online.
That means the EU isn't just failing to ban conversion therapy: they want to mandate conversion therapy for everyone under 18.
@2something @EUCommission That would mean, queer people didn't exist before the invention of the internet—which is not supported by science.
@2something @EUCommission But yeah, that might mean, more people stay closeted, maybe even do their best to live a seemingly straight life—though, that won't make them happy.
Let alone, this would probably also drive up suicide rates if they've got nobody to talk to.

@bazkie @2something @EUCommission I've rarely seen an organisation that is more two-faced than the EU: In its attempt to make everyone happy, it does amazing things (privacy laws, supply chain laws, etc.) but then they are bribed with a big suitcase of money into giving rich people whatever evil thing they want in exchange. I cannot believe, the EU can't see the huge contradiction it is.

Imagine an institution forcing people to either stay in the closet or publically disclosing "sensitive information" (see GDPR) according to the same institution.
Fortunately, countries that doesn't respect queer rights get sanction- oh wait, my bad, nevermind! 🤡

* Nawrocki (Poland): Vetoed partnership protections
* Orbán (Hungary, former PM): Restricted Pride and LGBTQ+ education
* Bulgaria: Banned LGBTQ+ topics in schools
and the list goes on...
