They claim it's to keep users safe, but that's bullshit. You don't need them looking out for you. Just don't be stupid online. I have never paid for antivirus or internet security software...it's native to most operating systems for free. All shit like Kaspersky, Avast, Norton, Play Protect, etc. do is hog resources data mine.

I have my own domain and run my own mail server and shit. It's not only cheaper than using Google and Microsoft, I have total control over everything. Good luck finding out my personal email address even with a subpoena or warrant.
If you want anything done right, do it yourself.

@frequencyfault @ariaflame @DarkAthena @evert @paoloredaelli I don't use ANY public cloud services at all - my entire infrastructure is in house and self hosted including mail, git, project management, websites, blog, collaboration, dns - everything (even my own SearXNG server).
But for research I use the most common tools in a sandbox - this was research into web privacy so I used the world's most popular browser because that is the only way to show real impact.
