PSA: If you have upgraded to MacOS 27 and have an annoying SiriAI button over all sorts of your text inputs:

    sudo mkdir -p /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/WritingTools LightweightUI_macOS -dict Enabled -bool false

will disable it. Requires a reboot.

@njr @robpike No need for sudo, reboot, or a terminal.

System Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy → Siri → Writing Assistance (turn off).

If you can’t flip the switch for Writing Assistance, you have Content & Privacy off in the previous screen.

@vitor @robpike Screen Time? Really? How is it anything to do with Screen time (which I have fully disabled).

I do think that there's a very strong case for turning Siri off completely (my usual practice). But I was at least going to leave it on for a week or two. Not that I've used it yet…
