you not only don't get to see their work, but you also don't get to experience what folx in the late 1960s saw. you can't compare it to now, you can't wonder how it was done, you can't see its connections to other media at the time, etc.

the cultural web that the show existed it is less tangible in the remaster than it was in the original, and if you have a chance to watch TOS with the original graphics, do so
it's superior, if only because its true to itself, not to a corporate vision of yet more money
