There is no "war on the motorist". But there is a war, waged one-sidedly by the motoring lobby, against public health, the safety of pedestrians and liveable cities. Against us, in other words.
Interestingly, the roadrage warriors who have attacked ULEZ cameras and invoked a grand conspiracy involving Sadiq Khan, George Soros et al belong to the political constituency that displays "Save Our Children" bumper stickers. Save our children from the Lizard People, so we can poison them.

It's a lot like how all the stuff about "protect our children from perverts!" later turned into complaints about "red tape" when the government said "okay, we'll do that" and now you have to get a criminal records check to help out running a kids football team.
